Born in Armenia in 1973 Haik Kocharian was introduced to the world of art in early childhood by his parents who where both Theater Actors. After graduating Armenian Theater Academy in 1994 he moved to New York in pursue of his artistic aspirations.In his early years in New York Haik Kocharian got involved in photojournalism using the unending dynamics of the city as a source for inspiration. During the period of ten years he worked on developing and perfecting his own visual style. In 2001 he graduated Brooklyn College majoring in Photography and Film. He's been working as a professional fine art photographer in the past seven years. Haik Kocharian's images can be found in numerous corporate and privet art collections worldwide. His held several Solo and Group Exhibitions in New York and participated in numerous prestigious charity auctions including Save The Children and Friends Without Borders. His work has been published in several US and European mainstream magazines and has won several awards, including finalist in Positive Focus Photo Competition, and finalist in Smithsonian Magazine Annual Photo Competition. Currently he lives in New York where he exhibits and sells his work.
